Big Sister Fiona

Fiona has been wonderful with her new brother. She loves to hold him, give him his pacifier, and play with his toes. I'm so very proud of her.

Our first family photo after Trevor's arrival.
Hugs to my two sweet children.

Fiona's Birthday Fun

I'm finally getting around to posting photos from Fiona's birthday celebrations. I figured I'd better do it before our new bundle of joy arrives on Monday.

Butterfly cookies for her class at school. The recipe came from Family Fun Magazine and originally was on cupcakes, but Fiona loves sugar cookies so we put the white chocolate sprinkle covered butterflies on iced flower sugar cookies. They turned out pretty well and were fun to make.
Purple butterfly to match her shirt.

Dora party with friends

New kitchen set from Mommy and Daddy (and yes, she is wearing Christmas jammies!)

Fiona's kitty cake, as requested. I found the instructions on the Internet and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so. She loved it.

500 Festival Parade with MeMaw and PaPa

She HAD to have a Dora balloon. So Daddy took her to get one from one of the street vendors walking around before the parade started.

Getting ready to blow out the candles. She blew them out twice. The first time was soon after they were lit but before we sang to her. So, Jeff had to relight them so we could sing and then she blew them out again. She loved the attention and for weeks afterward kept asking when it was going to be her birthday again!

Second time blowing out the candles!

Fiona's actual birthday day (Indy 500 Morning) wearing a diaper and her new dress up clothes from Aunt Jackie, Uncle Ken, Danny and Jack. I think she changed clothes four times that day!

Visiting the new tiger exhibit at the zoo

Our water baby. Her favorite thing at the zoo is to play in the splash park.

All in all, Fiona had an awesome birthday. She's growing up way to quickly (where did my sweet little baby go?) but is so much fun these days. We're enjoying her personality as it continues to develop in fun ways. I can't wait to see what happens once her baby brother arrives. It will be rough, but she's going to be a great big sister.

Easter Dress

We've finally had some warmer weather to allow for outdoor pictures of Fiona in her Easter dress. Jeff got a few good photos.

Mother's Day Picnic

My new favorite thing to do is go the the Indianapolis Art Museum and have a picnic in the gardens. Fiona loves to go and explore and the flowers are just beautiful. We were lucky and the rain held off on Mother's Day so we were able to have a nice picnic and then walk through the gardens.

Eating, sort of. She was more interested in running around with her Dora the Explorer ball. But she did eat some and Jeff and I had a blast watching her.

Rainy Day Fun

Fiona loves rainy days because then she gets to wear her raincoat and use her new umbrella (thanks NeeNee!). Being the great parents that we are, we stood in the garage while she played in the puddles at the end of the driveway. Luckily she listens well and when a car would come, I'd yell sidewalk and she get out of the way. Also, it's not a busy street, so not many cars came by!

Notice the wet hair. The umbrella didn't stay above her head for long. Her pants and socks were soaked (even though she was wearing her rain boots), but she had so much fun. I'm looking forward to many more opportunities for rain play, especially as it's been a very wet spring.

Happy Easter!

Proudly showing off her decorated eggs.

Easter Bunny!

If it ever stops raining and finally warms up, we'll post pictures of Fiona on her big girl bike. She got it last year for her birthday from MeeMaw and PaPa, but just now is getting the concept of peddaling. She does great and loves to be outside on it or on her trike.

Catching Up

It's been almost five months since my last post and a LOT has happened in that time. It's been a fun time with Fiona growing by leaps and bounds. She continues to love school, spends a lot of time singing a variety of songs, some of which she makes up herself, and LOVES to build puzzles. She's progressed from 9 piece puzzles at Christmas to 24 piece puzzles. We must do at least three puzzles a day if not more. Here are some pictures from the last five months.

Fiona loves to read books before falling asleep at night or during naptime. Sometimes this is what we find when we go check on her. It always makes me laugh.

She definitely got the puzzle gene from my mom's side of the family. Here she is helping Grammie and Auntie Chris build a BIG puzzle.

Fiona's first train ride. We went on a pumpkin train that left from Connersville. The ride was way too short, but she loved every minute of it.

Hayride to the "pumpkin patch."

I want this one!

Making Christmas cookies with MeeMaw. Fiona has become quite the baker. She loves to help out in the kitchen, either with the cooking (cutting up mushrooms, tearing lettuce) or baking (mixing cupcake dough, rolling out sugar cookies) or washing dishes (she loves to play in the water and bubbles).

Tasting time
Not a big fan of Santa yet, although she knows who he is. This was at the Taghon Christmas Party the first weekend in December. She had a lot of fun playing with her extended family of relatives.

Cutting down our Christmas tree.

First time down the Yule Slide at the Children's Museum

Christmas morning. Fiona was SOOOO excited about her baby center. She kept patting it and squealing.

Reading "Heads" by Matthew Van Fleet with Grammie. Of course Fiona still loves reading!

Her new Little People Wheelies track. She still plays with that almost every day. She loves the cars and they tend to be her toy of choice whenever we go out to eat. She play peacefully with them so Jeff and I can actually carry on a conversation!
After our huge ice storm (2 inches of ice with snow on top) Fiona rediscovered her bubble mower and insisted on using it. So, here she is mowing the snow.

First pony tail! She isn't a huge fan and will only keep a pony or pig tails in for a short while (sometimes a few hours), but she looks SOOOO cute in it. I love the way her features become more prominent.

Cupcake face. Today we made cupcakes and I guess they turned out pretty good since this is the result after eating one unfrosted and one frosted cupcake. We frosted them green in honor of spring and St. Patrick's Day. I'm sure we'll make more before St. Patrick's Day gets here.

Cheese you later!
